Once I found out that the Empire State Building was open until 2 AM, I knew I had to go. And really, what better time than within the first 30 minutes of turning 27, with imthecatman by my side on a beautiful summer night?

I got the chance over the weekend to go through imthecatman’s grandfather’s photography. He was rarely seen without his camera and at one point had the opportunity to work for National Geographic! Opting instead to be a family man, he passed on the job and devoted his life to capturing (and making) beautiful memories of his wife and daughters.
The image above was taken in a hotel room during a trip to Italy in the 70s. Where has all the wallpaper love gone!? I think it’s a lost art.
